The Importance of Veterinary Visits

All pets need to visit a  veterinarian on a regular basis. During standard wellness visits, our highly-skilled veterinarians perform examinations to monitor for any signs of medical concern, to and make sure the animals are in good overall health. Knowing a pet’s health condition helps veterinarians spot warning signs that can develop into significant health problems later on. So if you have a furry friend in your life, it’s your responsibility to make sure they are getting the medical care they need.

If you are looking for the best veterinary care in Frisco, look no further than The Pet Vet. Our veterinarians are here for you and your animals, whether they are completely healthy and need an annual checkup and vaccinations, or are injured or sick and need us to help get them back to 100%. All pets deserve outstanding medical care, and we are here to give it to them. At The Pet Vet, our doctors and technicians are all highly trained and will ensure that your pet gets the highest quality care. We do this by offering the best techniques,  instruments, and services. Furthermore, we make sure to establish a relationship with you and your pet right from the beginning, so that they will be less anxious about future visits to the hospital. Wellness and preventative checkups help to keep your pet living their happiest and healthiest life, and also allows us to get to know them in a comfortable setting. We treat all pets like our own because, at the end of the day, we believe that each one of our clients and patients is truly part of The Pet Vet Family!

About The Pet Vet’s Services in Frisco

As a full-service veterinary office, we offer both wellness and urgent care services. This means that you have access to full-service care 7 days a week- even on Saturday and Sunday- without the high fees of an emergency vet!

At a typical wellness visit, some of the services your pet may receive include:

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations per the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners Vaccination Guidelines. Did you know: we have an app called Vitus Vet where you can track and access all of your pet’s vaccine history whenever and wherever you are!
  • A microchip to ensure owners are easily contacted in the event that a pet gets lost or separated from home during an emergency. Did you know: we offer $30 microchipping with no activation/registration or annual fees required?
  • Screening for heartworm, fleas, and tick-borne diseases, and prescription preventative products to keep them parasite and disease free for the entire year. Did you know that heartworms are spread by mosquitoes and it only takes one bite to infect your pet? And, due to mild Texas winters, mosquitoes are active year-round which makes prevention necessary every single month in this part of the country.
  • Refilling of any existing prescriptions as well as new prescriptions as needed. Did you know: we have an online pharmacy so you can order your pet’s prescription from the palm of your hands? How convenient!

One service we are very proud to offer at The Pet Vet in Frisco is laser therapy! We want to make sure that your pet is taken care of before, during, and after any surgical procedure. That is why we provide laser therapy in-house after every surgical and dental procedure. Laser therapy is a noninvasive procedure that stimulates cell regeneration and increases blood circulation by using a cold light. It works well to speed healing and decrease pain and inflammation after surgery.

We also offer dental cleaning services, spay and neuter procedures, and various other surgical procedures, such as soft tissue surgeries, lumpectomies,  bladder stone removals, and more. All of these services can be discussed at a visit with one of our veterinarians. Before we do any anesthetic procedures on your furry friend, we do mandatory blood testing to make sure your pet is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia. This allows a reduced risk of complications during surgery.

Best of all, not only are our services convenient and affordable, but they are also the highest of quality. We pride ourselves on offering many advanced diagnostics in-house like ultrasound, digital x-rays, thyroid levels, and more so you don’t have to travel from one place to another! We know life gets busy, so that is why we want The Pet Vet to be your one-stop shop for everything you need to care for your four-legged friend. We are also open 7 days a week and offer drop-off appointments so you can get your pet’s medical care completed while you’re running Sunday errands.  You can book an appointment online straight from your couch!

At The Pet Vet, we genuinely care about each and every animal that comes through our doors. With the latest veterinary technology and highly-skilled veterinarians, we have the tools and experience needed to provide optimal care. So if you’re looking for a veterinarian in the Frisco area, call us today to learn more about what we can do for you and your furry friend.
