About The Pet Vet’s Services in Stillwater

We are a full-service veterinary office and urgent care, which means you have access to a full range of care seven days a week without the exorbitant fees an emergency vet would charge. Some of the typical services you can expect your pet to receive at The Pet Vet are:

General Wellness Exams

Regular wellness exams are absolutely essential for any pet. They ensure that your pet’s health is not deteriorating over an extended period of time, and help us to monitor any changes as they grow from puppyhood to adulthood. Just as you ought to see your physician once a year, your pet should come to see a veterinarian annually. In addition to providing a check-up, we also can perform screenings for flea, heartworm, and tick-borne diseases and offer preventative products to keep your pet healthy year-round.

Age-Appropriate Vaccinations

Vaccinations keep your pet safe from preventable diseases and can be given either during your pet’s general wellness exam or during a separate appointment – whichever you prefer. We follow all AAHA and AAFP vaccination guidelines, and our vaccine prices are posted online so that you know what to expect before coming in.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that we love our pets like family, they can still get out and run away from home every once in a while. This is undoubtedly an anxiety-inducing event for you as the owner, but The Pet Vet tries to alleviate this kind of stress by providing microchipping. Microchipping is a one-time, permanent form of pet identification that can be performed very easily and without much pain to your pet, and will then allow whoever finds your pet to easily contact you and reunite the two of you. We offer it for only $30 with no additional activation, annual, or registration fees!

Laser Therapy

We want to be there for your pet before, during, and after any surgical procedure that they may have to undergo. We are very proud to offer cool laser therapy as a great option to speed up recovery post-surgery. It is a noninvasive procedure that uses light to increase and stimulate cell regeneration, and can even be used to treat chronic injuries.

Chief of Staff Veterinarian

Remington Pettit, D.V.M.

Dr. Remington Pettit grew up in Southwest Kansas and came to Oklahoma in 2003. She completed her undergraduate degree at Oklahoma State University in 2007 and graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After graduation, she was in mixed animal practice until 2016. During her time as a mixed animal practitioner she developed her passion for preventative medicine and soft tissue surgery. In 2016, Dr. Pettit went to work for the USDA APHIS Veterinary Services. This role allowed her to focus on public health, foreign animal disease, and live animal international export. This position enabled her to see a wider scope of the veterinary profession and its importance in safeguarding our countries agriculture. Now with the The Pet Vet, Dr. Pettit is able to care for the pets of the Stillwater community by focusing on preventative medicine, client education, and soft tissue surgery.

In her spare time, Dr. Pettit spends time with her husband and daughter. She also attends as many Oklahoma State University sports events as possible. She has a funny farm full of animals that includes her two horses, two cows, two cats, and four dogs.
