A magnetic aquarium cleaner uses an inner cleaning pad and an outer handle that move together across the tank wall. It can make routine algae removal easier, but the correct model depends on the aquarium material and wall thickness. It does not replace water testing, filtration maintenance or water changes.
What the manufacturer specifies
Mag-Float’s acrylic Mini page identifies item 00025 for aquariums up to 10 gallons, with wall thickness up to 3/16 inch. It also states that this model can be used on glass. Check the item number on the package; retailer names such as 25A may differ from the manufacturer’s listing. These specifications come from the manufacturer, not our own performance testing.
Match the pad to the surface
Confirm that the cleaner and any replacement pad or scraper attachment are approved for your tank material. Do not assume a glass-only cleaning surface is appropriate for acrylic. Tank volume alone is not enough to choose a magnetic cleaner: measure wall thickness and consider curved surfaces, corners and access around the tank.
Inspect before each use
Check both contact surfaces for grit, damage or trapped debris. Keep the inner pad away from sand and gravel, and stop if anything becomes caught beneath it. Do not keep dragging a contaminated pad across the wall. Follow the product instructions for separating the magnets, retrieving the inner component and maintaining the pads.
Move carefully around animals and seals
Watch the inner component as you clean. Fish, snails, plants and decorations can be close to the wall, so do not assume there is no risk simply because your hand stays outside the tank. Avoid forcing the cleaner against seams, trim or tight corners. Stop if it loses contact or does not move smoothly.
Algae on the wall is different from cloudy water

Is the Mini suitable for your tank?
Compare its stated limits with your aquarium and the cleaning area you need to reach. A different size or a compatible hand tool may be more practical for another setup. We have not independently tested the Mag-Float Mini, verified current prices or audited customer reviews. This guide does not guarantee scratch-free operation or suitability for every small aquarium.
